Welcome to this first post on The Latino Church. I will provide regular updates on issues related to the Latino Church.

Why in English?

I am a second-generation Mexican-American, whose first language is English, so the blog will be in English. I welcome responses in Spanish however. I am an ordained elder in the Rio Grande Conference of The United Methodist Church. I have been the Director of Hispanic Church Studies at the Seminary of the Southwest since 1999.

I welcome your thoughts for making this a helpful blog.
